ROCHELLE WEINSTEIN - Goodbye 2020 - Hello 2021 - FIVE GIVEAWAYS
Rochelle Weinstein had a successful 2020. Her novel THIS IS NOT HOW IT ENDS (LakeUnionPublishing) sold over 100,000 copies. That's exciting for any author. She's working on her 6th and 7th novels! We're happy she got the opportunity to write an essay for us looking back at 2020 and ahead to 2021.
Looking back at 2020....no one could have predicted what we are now facing (have faced). If there's any year that has stopped us, literally, in our tracks, and demanded we reevaluate and take stock, this was it. And while there were numerous silver linings to the pandemic, if you looked, there's something about turning the page, from old to new, that provides a sense of hope. Because what are we left with without hope?
So what am I looking forward to in 2021? A renewed sense of optimism, good health for all, a more unified country, peace, and love. If you have these things, the rest will come.
LUCKY READERS! Rochelle is offering ONE copy of THIS IS NOT HOW IT ENDS to FIVE lucky winners! That's FIVE GIVEAWAYS! Just tell us what you love most about the Holidays! Place your answer in the comments section.

Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah. Have a blessed Holiday.
I enjoy spending time with my sons during the holidays.
ReplyDeleteFamily is the most important!
DeleteTypically, I love how everyone seems to slow down during the holidays. While the obligations are time consuming, the intention behind gift giving and celebrating are pure. Focus is more graciousness and care.
ReplyDeleteThis year, being slowed by the pandemic, the holidays will feel different. People are already focusing on care. It will be interesting to see what happens.
It'll definitely be different. God bless.
DeleteSpending quality time with family 💞
ReplyDeleteWe have 16 grandkids and love Christmas in Minnesota when they (and their parents) all come home to visit. We (okay, my husband!) flood a huge skating rink and people ice skate, play hockey, or pull the little ones around on a sled. We will be alone this year, but look forward to having a healthy family for 2021!
ReplyDeleteSounds like lots of activity!
DeleteLove the aromas of pine and cinnamon and other spices. Love the lights and decorations
ReplyDeleteI love those scents, too!
DeleteFamily time
ReplyDeleteFamily seems to be the most plans

DeleteWhat I love most about the holidays are the lights because to me it means that there are people out there who still believe. This year was so difficult for all of us and the sight of the holiday lights at the local Home Depot literally moved me to tears...happy tears because it meant that something special was coming. A time to celebrate what the holidays mean to each of us, a time to grasp some light in this darkest of years, a time to feel a wee bit of normalcy. The festival of lights in our city is one bit of normalcy/continuity that I can share with my family. For me, that is what the holidays mean this year. Vicky Zak

DeleteWhat I love most about the holidays are all the beautiful and magical decorations and the children’s excitement.
ReplyDeleteMe too
DeleteI love the decorations and lights of the holidays, and the way my heart lifts at such beauty. Although I am avoiding stores this year, even walking into the supermarket is lovely with the holiday cookie and seasonal home decor displays. Most of all, I look forward to celebrating my love for my family. We have our first grandchild this year, so it is an extra special time.
ReplyDeleteI love the decor.
DeleteIt's the smiles and laughter watching my 3 yr old granddaughter open her gifts. Her excitement and anticipation leading up to Christmas day is intoxicating.
ReplyDeleteI love spending time with my family and sharing good food with them. Watching the Chanukkah candles chase away the darkness also makes me n happy.
ReplyDeletefamily and food - nice
DeleteWhat I love most about the holidays is seeing Christmas through the sweet eyes of our young children.

ReplyDeleteI like that people tend to be nicer for a little while!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about the holidays is the cozy sense of warmth and love created at Christmas time when family gathers to share a meal with special memories.
ReplyDeleteSpending time with my son and grandson, means the world to me, especially at Christmas!

ReplyDeleteI’m looking forward to putting 2020 behind us and starting a new year with new hope for a heathy and happy year for all,
ReplyDeleteThis year the holidays gave me a reason to bring light and fun back into my house. I had fun decorating and sending pix of my decorations to my friends since no one can really drop in due to covid.
ReplyDeleteThe holidays were different this year, but we did manage to spend, carefully, with family. Fortunately, one has a big house where we could spread out.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about the holidays is the time spent with family. A little different in 2020 but we managed. I have faith that things will be better for the 2021 holiday season.
ReplyDeleteI love doing activities with the family during the holidays.

My favorite thing about the holidays is family time.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy celebrating Hanukkah with my family, especially when my children come home to celebrate with me. I also love showering my children with presents; even though they are 26 and 28, I still make sure that they receive at least one present for each of the eight nights. Because I love lighting the Hanukkah candles and reciting the prayers, and because my children were unable to visit me for the first time since they each left home due to covid, we lit them every night together over Zoom. I’m looking forward to having them with me this year for the holiday.
