PULSE by Judy G. Walters - Review & Giveaway

I remember watching ER religiously when George Clooney was on the show. Yes, that was a long time ago. In PULSE (64Squares), the first book in the new "Vital Signs Series, readers are taken into an emergency room filled with professional adrenalin junkies. All can be quiet and then, BANG, the sick, injured, drug addicts and crazies are all coming in. Dr. Bobby Jackson is a doctor all the staff respect. The nurses and orderlies will do anything for him.

The book opens with a young drowning victim being wheeled into the ER and the child ends up being the Dr. Bobby Jackson's son. He's unable to save him. There are questions surrounding why the boy was alone while his wife was home, especially by the pool.  His wife is a sociopath he married because the "sex was so great." He hides his horrors at home from all of his colleagues. I almost couldn't finish the book despite liking it, because Dr. Jackson's pycho wife, Jaqueline is so flawed and evil. My stomach actually tightened any time she was in the story. She treats anyone in her path like crap, including their still living daughter, BJ.

The books ends with a bang! I'm certainly not going to tell you more than that, except to say, you'll be waiting on pins and needles to read Book Two this fall.

Author "Judy G. Walters" is a nom de plume for a married couple, one of whom is a board certified physician, the the other a CEO in the healthcare arena. They have taken their extensive medical experience, along with the love of chess and brought them together for readers enjoyment.
