A MAGICAL NEW YORK CHRISTMAS by Anita Hughes - Review & Giveaway

It's the most wonderful time of the year and we're heading off to one of the most beautiful cities during the Holidays in Anita Hughes novel, A MAGICAL NEW YORK CHRISTMAS (StMartinsPress). You'll feel the spirit as we head off to The Plaza in NYC, where enchanting love and magic are around every corner.

26-year old, Sabrina Post secures a job to ghostwrite the memoir of a famous art dealer. She's a struggling journalist who can't believe she's landed this job at The Plaza hotel for six nights, all expenses paid. Of course, Sabrina meets a gorgeous British gentleman, Ian Wentworth at the bar. He assumes she's a wealthy woman on holiday and she assumes the same about him. But over the week, as they fall for one another and the truth comes out,  they discover what Sabrina and Ian presume about each other may not be true.

It's a delightful holiday romcom with likeable characters and a story that'll put you in the mood for love.

Anita Hughes was born in Sydney, Australia and had a charmed childhood that included petting koala bears, riding the waves on Bondi Beach, and putting an occasional shrimp on the barbie. Her writing career began at the age of eight, when she won a national writing contest in THE AUSTRALIAN newspaper, and was named "One of Australia's Next Best Writers." (She still has the newspaper clipping.)

She received a B.A. in English Literature with a minor in Creative Writing from Bard College, and attended UC Berkeley's Masters in Creative Writing program.

Her debut novel MONARCH BEACH was released in June 2012, followed by MARKET STREET and LAKE COMO in 2013. FRENCH COAST and ROME IN LOVE were released in 2015.

ISLAND IN THE SEA: A MAJORCA LOVE STORY and SANTORINI SUNSETS and her first holiday novel, CHRISTMAS IN PARIS, were released in 2016.

WHITE SAND, BLUE SEA: A ST BARTS LOVE STORY, EMERALD COAST and CHRISTMAS IN LONDON were released in 2017. CALIFORNIA SUMMER and CHRISTMAS AT THE CHALET were released in 2018. CHRISTMAS IN VERMONT was released in October, 2019.  A MAGICAL NEW YORK CHRISTMAS coming September, 2021.

ROME IN LOVE is now a Hallmark movie! CHRISTMAS IN VERMONT is now a LIFETIME movie!

She lives in Dana Point, CA with her family, where she interrupts her writing to watch the glorious sunsets.

  1. We’ll be together at home. My brother can’t make it up this year, so it’s just my children, my parents, and myself. We’ll tell the Christmas Story, open stockings, watch a few movies, call my brother, hangout, and take naps! It’s pretty laid back here. We celebrate a lot leading up to Christmas, though. Plenty of family time is spent with games, stories, and traditions. We try to keep things stress free.
