FACTOR-7 by J.D. May - Spotlight & Giveaway

J.D May's debut novel, Factor-7 (PalmettoPublishingGroup) presents a terrifying but riveting scenario that's ripped from the headlines-and, if things do not change, could very well be our new normal.

Factor-7 is a bucking bronco ride of bio-weaponry, secrets, terror, betrayal, lies, infidelity, raw human emotions, and redeeming love. It's a completely gripping thriller that will keep you turning the pages and up all night. The life of Dr. Sam Hawkins, the head trauma surgeon at Galveston's St. Peter's Memorial Hospital, is changed forever by the cryptic words of his dying friend and the string of blatant cover-ups that follow his demise.

When a beautiful infectious disease doctor, Rainee Arienzo, enters his life, they soon realize that Sam's friend had been willing to die to expose the sinister truth of what he had become involved, before a dangerous weapon could be unleashed upon the world. Reluctantly, and ill-equipped for such a task, Sam and Rainee team up to find the truth-but what they discover is far more than they could have imagined. As they are forced further and further into a world of murder, power, intrigue, and corruption, it becomes deathly clear that exposure of the truth is just as dangerous as the group and weapon that they seek. Sam and Rainee must play with one of two devils to survive-or be burned by both. You think it could never happen. Factor-7 will make you think twice.

J.D. May is a third-generation Texan and says that her her characters speak to her and lead her to where they want to go, say, and do. Her husband, Buster, and adult daughter, Annlyn, fully support her writing, but sometimes jokingly say she should be put in a straight-jacket. Really, she’s been analyzed, and she checked out ok—promise!

She has traveled extensively and lived summers in Campbell River, British Columbia, Canada and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico—partially to escape the Texas unrelenting heat, but mainly for the beauty and inspiration she received while there. She loves Italy and Greece and draws upon experiences and people she knows in all these places she has lived, traveled, and loved in her novel FACTOR-7. She is a painter and is active with her fellow artists at the co-op gallery in Port Isabel, Texas. Family, dear friends, and her faith are and always will be her first priority, but second is her passion for writing and art. She and her husband are huge animal activists, feeding and caring for a tribe of loudmouth feral cats that aren’t so feral any more.
