MY SUMMER DARLINGS by May Cobb - Review & Giveaway
A sexy stranger with gorgeous blue eyes shows up in a small East Texas town in May Cobb's new novel, MY SUMMER DARLINGS (Berkley) and soon, he's all anyone is talking about. Three women Jen, Kittie and Cynthia have been friends since childhood and they're approaching forty. Over the years they've kept sane by drinking wine all the time, gossiping about other women in the neighborhood, spoiling their entitled ungrateful teens and bitching about it. But now, along with the wine, all three are crushing on Will Harding.
Will works his svengali magic on all three women and soon their obsession threatens their friendships and families. Will proceeds to lead all three on and he has them doing things they've never dreamed of... well, maybe dreamed, but didn't expect to go through with. We soon learn that Will is a sociopath, but that doesn't cure their addiction to him.
These women aren't the brightest, they're just terribly bored and easily manipulated. They don't seem to care for anyone else but themselves. All three end up learning some serious lessons and fighting for their lives.
I enjoyed MY SUMMER DARLINGS. It's my first real fun and sassy summer read. It was quick, pithy and a bit risque, which I enjoyed immensely. I haven't read her bestseller, THE HUNTING WIVES yet, but it's at the top of my TBR.
May Cobb is a freelance writer from Austin, TX who won the 2015 Writer’s League of Texas Manuscript Contest. Her writing has appeared in The Washington Post, Austin Monthly and the online edition of JazzTimes. She's the author of the bestselling novel, THE HUNTING WIVES. She lives in Austin with her family.
Thanks to Berkley, we have one book to giveaway. Just tell us some of your summer plans. We'll announce a winner soon. Good luck.
