THE BEACH TRAP by Ali Brady - Review & Giveaway

I nominate THE BEACH TRAP (Berkley) for the most crossed lines and misunderstandings between characters ever in a novel. Ali Brady writes about two best friends torn apart by a secret, but its time to set the record straight.

12-year old's, Kat Steiner and Blake O'Neill become BFFs when they meet at Camp Chickawah. But when Kat's father comes to pick her up early, to take her home for a family emergency, both Kat and Blake discover they have the same father. They are half-sisters, confused, betrayed and unable to talk and discover the truth about their relationship. They cut all ties to each other.

Fifteen years later they learn dad has left them a joint inheritance, a beach house in Destin, Florida. Soon they are separately on their ways to what each hopes is a beautiful beach mansion they can sell for big bucks and split the profits. Once they arrive, they find anything but a beautiful mansion. They've inherited a dilapidated, broken down heap of trash - perhaps the land is worth something. Kat believes the house is hers because she summered in it. Blake is broke with a grandfather who raised her, and she needs the money to pay for his eldercare.

They immediately butt heads trying to make the other feel less than, but eventually have the guts to work together... sort of.

THE BEACH TRAP is about gaining enough confidence in yourself to lower the barriers that protect your battered and bruised heart. It's about realizing how important you are and not taking responsibility for other's mistakes. It's about realizing you're loveable and worthy of being treated with respect. It's time to stop blaming others
